The decision was taken at a meeting held earlier today as lecturers across the country have declared a strike following the failure of government to meet their demands.

UTAG wants the 2012 conditions of service to peg the Basic plus Market Premium of a lecturer at $2,084.42.

In declaring their strike, which took effect on August 2, 2021, UTAG’s National Executive Committee announced that all academic activities were to be suspended including the conduct and supervision of examinations.
